Matrocast Laboratories (Pty) Ltd is a Civil Engineering service organization with the objective, through motivated personnel and good management, to deliver a high quality service, as well as to ensure professionalism and positive growth.
History
Matrolab (Pty) Ltd was established in Cape Town over 30 years ago and was the first commercial laboratory in the region to implement the SABS ISO 9002 Quality System. Matrocast Laboratories (Pty) Ltd was then established in February 2002 when the Matrolab Cape Town branch combined resources with Cast Laboratories CC with great success. There are currently operations in the Western, Northern and Eastern Cape.
In August 2005 Matrocast was the first commercial laboratory in the Western Cape to obtain ISO 17025 Accreditation (T0245).
This ensures that staff are involved in a continuous internal and external training and assessment program in order to attain the highest technical excellence. Through further training, each member of staff has equal opportunity to make contributions to the development and improvement of the service. Our Proficiency Testing program is further proof of our commitment to quality, with regular internal and external inspections and audits which all form part of the SANAS ISO 17025 Quality System.

Our range of testing services includes the following:
- Commercial testing of soil, rock, aggregate, concrete, asphalt and bituminous binders for process and acceptance control.
- Cement and Bitumen Emulsion designs for stabilization of pavement layers
- Concrete and Asphalt Mix Designs
- Site Laboratories with Quality Plan
- Research & Specialist testing
- Geotechnical Investigations including foundation soil inspections for NHBRC reporting
- Concrete & Asphalt coring
- Materials Testers evaluation and training – internally and in conjunction with MTTC.
- Pavement Investigation
- Software development for laboratory reporting in conjunction with Matrolab Group
- Testing of Pre-cast and Manufactured products such as Bricks and Blocks
- Centre-line and Borrow Pit Surveys
- Pavement Investigations
Chemical testing of Water and Aggregates for Concrete purposes
