Link baiting sounds like a bad thing, but if you have fun or interesting information, link baiting doesn’t have to have negative connotations.

• Humour baiting is the easiest, since nothing is more appealing than something that makes us laugh. The key here is to balance your humour on that fine line between funny and offensive. If you can achieve this, then you will get more traffic.
• Social baiting is all about finding a good cause to support and broadcasting it on the internet. However, you should be sincere in your support of the cause you choose since charities and welfare organisations rely on support from others.
• You can also move away from causes and choose instead to wander into the realm of politics and religion. This is difficult since the chances of someone being offended are very high.
• Baiting with tools and applications allows you to be creative and to make something useful and relevant that people will want to have and to link to. 

We recommend producing interesting content or having a creative idea rather than spouting really controversial ideas 100% of the time. If everything you ever say is controversial, it can be entertaining, but it’s harder to maintain credibility over the long haul.
